The dkm brand story

Since 2008, we’ve grown from serving Western Sydney to expanding into Canberra and now, businesses nationwide. With each milestone, we’ve refined our services: automating bookkeeping, producing meaningful reports, and saving taxes for all our clients.

Message from our founder.
David M.

Hello Everyone,

accounting should be simple. Too often, businesses get lost in confusing reports, complexities, and advice that doesn’t help. At DKM Accounting, we focus on what matters, giving businesses clear, practical insights that make a difference.

We don’t overcomplicate or hide behind jargon. Whether it’s tax planning, bookkeeping, or strategy, our approach is simple: get the work done properly, stay proactive, and ensure clients understand their numbers.

Meet the dkm Accounting Team.

Frequently Asked Questions
Switching is simpler than most people expect and there’s no need to wait until 30 June. You collect your prior-year returns and financials from your current accountant, and your new one requests the rest. Businesses now also nominate their agent through ATO online services before the agent can act. DKM Accounting handles the changeover and the ATO nomination steps with you, so nothing falls through the gap between firms.

Accountant fees in Australia vary depending on your needs. At DKM, for example, we charge $198 (GST included) for a standard tax return. This fee covers all deduction types from D1 to D10 and comes with a yearly updated deductions checklist, allowing you to compare your deductions with industry benchmarks. If your situation requires additional schedules, such as those for business income or capital gains, extra fees will apply.

Yes. The cost of managing your tax affairs is deductible in Australia, which includes accountant and registered tax agent fees, the cost of lodging your return and travel to see your accountant. You claim it in the year you pay it. It’s one reason professional advice often costs less than it first appears, since a portion comes back at tax time.
